Knitting and Crochet - HELP CLINIC
Westacott Cottage Arts & Crafts Centre

Built in 1886, Westacott Cottage is a late Victorian masonry cottage, bought by Fairfield City Council in 1978 and listed as a local heritage site. Westacott Cottage has since undergone some minor restoration, and was officially opened to the public in 2010. The cottage has become a meeting place where members of arts and crafts groups can socialise and develop their creative skills. The public is also invited to buy and/or sell their handcrafted goods in the cottage.

Whether it is a particular technique, reading and understanding a pattern, choosing the right yarn, you are stuck with your project or need to find and fix a mistake,

THIS IS THE PLACE TO FIND HELP.

Barbara is an Accredited Crochet Teacher (Crochet Guild Australia) and won multiple Awards for her knitted and crocheted (incl. Tunisian crochet) projects at the Royal Sydney Easter Show, the Camden Show and the National Alpaca Show. She has learned to crochet and to knit at the age of 8 in Austria, where it was part of the school curriculum and she loved spending time with her very talented Grandmother to improve her skills. Since her move to Australia over 15 years ago, she has been a member of the Westacott Cottage Crafties and gained more knowledge and experience in crochet, knitting, felting, weaving and spinning, which she loves to share with the Community.

TIP: We recommend that you bring along another project, you don’t need help with, so that you can keep busy while you are waiting to get to your turn.
